Last Sunday our church held a wonderful family fun day filled with games, ice cream, a cake walk and more! I would ordinarily not go because we don’t have children, but this time we did. We thought Madina would have a great time playing games with all the kids. There were a lot of people there and she just pulled back into her shell. We did get her to participate in one game called “Jump the Brook.” She liked that but didn’t want to do anything else. I knew she had to be hungry, but she wouldn’t eat; even one of her favorite things, popsicles. She lost her smile and just wanted to go home. It was just too much for her. We don’t blame her at all… so much noise and talking and she doesn’t understand our language; that would be overwhelming to anyone.
