Deborah Young has offered to take portraits of the kids for many years now. Madina’s was scheduled for Tuesday morning. She picked out a little pink tennis outfit and looked adorable. Her smile naturally lights up a room, but in front of the camera she became shy. The smiles were forced a bit, so we’ll have to see how they turn out. She has the habit of not showing her teeth when she smiles. Not sure why she does this. On the way home we stopped at Bailey Park. She played all of 15 minutes. There were numerous toddler boys there and she was the only girl. I really think she was uncomfortable. Boys and girls are not allowed to play together in Afghanistan.
